G'day everyone

I have been trying to find what belt size is required for the 4e jointer on my 10er. I have seen it on here before but not having much luck with my searches.

If someone has a link or could let me know the size belt they use it would be appreciated.

No problem . I did the same too. Thought for sure it would be in there.

I am sure John B or Bill M will know and post, I think John has one on an ER or soon to.

Yes, I have two here but have not researched the belt yet.

This migh be a pain, but I would be tempted to set up the jointer and string a long shoelace in place of a belt. Tie it off snug and then cut it in half and measure the length. That should put you in the ballpark. It's probably a 1/2 inch belt?

I cheated and used a link belt when I had the 10ER and 4E joiner. I keep a few feet of link belt links laying around for the times I need an unknown V belt length. I still use link belts for my personal Shopsmith headstocks (35 links) but did not use link belts on any customers headstocks that I rebuilt or any headstock that I sold.

One way, and I am guessing it is a 4l belt use the shoe string technique, buy a 4L belt 6" bigger, cut it, and place one end one the larger of the 2 pulleys, fasten it with tape, then use the rest to go around the other pulley and back up to the other end, mark it, measure and that is your belt size.

Get a 1/2" wide tape measure. Wrap it around both pulleys.Subtract about a half inch from the measurement.

I know you would come through!!!!!!!!!! A clothe one sold at fabric stores is more flexible.
