After watching a sawdust session on sharpening. Nick used a buffing wheel. So I started trying to find one. Found out there are 6 inch 8 inch with different arbor holes and different grits and such. So what should I be looking for?

Don Pencil "Wood N Things"sells one specifically for the Shopsmith, the wheel size doesn't really matter the Shopsmith can accommodate both. What you need is a 5/8" female adapter and he sells that for $19.95.

You can get one that has a shaft instead of an arbor. If the shaft is 1/2" or less you can chuck it in Shopsmith drill chuck. I have a leather wheel with a quarter inch shaft. It works very well for stropping. Buffing is another game. 6" to 8" seems a good size.

I purchased the one I use at Tractor Supply. Sears also have a similar kit.
