I see that this is on sale now at 50% off. Does anyone have one? I was wondering if it will really stand up on it's own like shown in the photo.

I have a couple of step gauges. Both aluminum. One from Rockler and one from I don't know where. Both have been around for years. They still are as functional as "out of the box".

I have a couple of them, but not the ones that SS sells. Never tried to stand them up. But the thing that I am wondering is just how many weeks is that item going to be the "weekly" special? I haven't been keeping count, but it has been the weekly special for some weeks now!Image

I have it and it will stand briefly if you don't breath and if you don't touch the table.

Not only has this been the weekly special for a long time, but the biscuit jointer has been the monthly special for three months running.

At least we get frequent e-mail sale items, huh?! :D

I guess we should all order step gauges and biscuit jointers - then maybe the specials will change.

I have the step gauge and use it regularly. It does stand on its own on a level table but not dependably..

I just use a small spring clamp on the gauge to hold it up.

In the picture, it looks like it's leaning against the splitter.
