Out with the New and in with the Old so to speak.

Credenza for my office at home had to come out to make way for a 1994 Mark V and Bandsaw I picked up. TLC and a few pieces and this will be my shorty.

Dick and I have been looking for a project ER for me. I almost had a Lazarus Project last weekend, but a fellow in Dallas beat me to it. When I contacted him to see if he would part with it he said; "Sure, you can buy it a part a time on eBay if you are the successful bidder."

It's a shame as it was complete, just rusty. We know all about rust here as there are some masterful craftsmen who have resurrected Lazarus Projects of their own, and shared how they did it.

I have another one in the cross-hairs though thanks to Dick.

Same here brother... I can't believe the guy said you can buy it one piece at a time off ebay!

I have actually scored two 10ers simply because I stated to the sellers my intention was to strip the machine down, restore it, then use it rather than part it out!!!!!!!!!!!

We all need a part from time to time so we need scrappers to a degree however, too many folks are simply looking for a quick buck...

That's my take too. This guy bought it knowing he was going to part it out, even though he promised the seller he was going to rebuild it.

The fellow was a bit rude I thought as he indicated I would never be able to connect his Craigslist purchase with his eBay Seller ID and that he did this all the time on all sorts of things. He could be right and I may even buy a part or two if I need them from him and never know.

We do need them, but it's a shame that some rebuild capable systems go the way of the parting out, but even that is better than scrap iron, so it is what it is... better, but not perhaps best.

I was able to get the one Dick found for me, and it's now paid for. One of my sons-in-law is arranging with the seller to pick it up and store it for me until I can come up in the Spring and get it.

I am glad it worked out Everett. You will love it, especially with your history of the 10 .....

I hope to do it justice and take my time restoring it. I have a look in mind, but I will see how that goes as I get it moving forward.

I know there are so many here who have documented so much on 10ER's, and then there is Skip Campbell over at the Yahoo 10ER Forums.

I got to visit Skip's shop in the summer when I picked up a parts I got while passing through D/FW.

Thanks again Dick for helping me find it.

Now I am looking for casters for the 10ER, and maybe a speed changer.

I do have a question though. I would swear that I have seen an 10ER with a lower saw guard in a photo somewhere in the last year.

Was that an option they once made, or was it someone's adaptation of another guard for something else?

Don't know that the table saw is going to be a major application for mine, but if I have the opportunity to have a lower blade guard, it would be nice to finish it at the same time as the machine itself.

Everett, just the casters, or the whole wheel assembly?
I think the casters are the same as a Mark series setup.
The lifting assembly is very close in design, just designed
to be mounted on a vertical leg, for the Model 10. In fact,
with an adapter bracket, the Mark assembly WILL work on
the Model 10. Doesn't "look" exactly the same, but since I'm
out, the "correct" pieces will cost you $100+, and from
someone else.

There IS a lower blade guard. I think Hans made 3 or 4.

If you have a Mark series, you've got a MUCH better table
saw. (You Do have a Mark, you've GOT a better TS.)

When I set my older brother up with an ER, I didn't even send
a saw arbor. His table saw setup, has a table almost as big as an
aircraft carrier's deck. AND extension tables!

Does anyone know what those 10E/R lower saw guards sell for, if and when they do come up for sale?
