I have a 510 rip fence and I don't want to buy a 520 fence. Has any one a way to improve the 510 fence? I'm not too cheep but I just spent $1500 for motor up date ect.

Maybe obvious, and maybe not anything inherent to the 510 fence, specifically, but if you haven't already, browse through PTWWFE and this forum or other websites for various jigs or supplemental fences you can make and use in conjunction with your rip fence. The extra t-slots on the 520 do look nice, but you can build your way there with what you have. Also, if you are looking for a bit of a beefier fence, maybe filling it with lead shot would increase the weight of the 510 fence. :p (I am joking about that...I think)

Although you gain t slots on both the top and sides, you lose the jig mounting holes that go back a half century.

Lead shot aside, you could add side boards with those holes. Maybe a top board also.  T-slots 'optional'. :D

I was moving 510 fences today and noticed how heavier they were than the 500 fence I am more used to.(same re the main table :( )

Beefier is fine, but requires more effort to carry/move etc..

Just ask the PP folks about raising to vertical!

You say you want to improve the 510 fence. We might better respond if you could detail what you find inadequate about the 510 fence.

I use both and find that they both function quite well.

After using my PowerPro for several years - Is there a question here? Yes, it goes vertical just like the older headstocks. Go ahead and ask!

The question was regarding if 'beefier' also means heavier. ;)
