First,if this information is already posted,I apologize for duplicating.
I need to purchase new gilmer belts, poly v belts and drive belts for my three Mark 5's.
There seems to have been some question as to the quality of SS belts (old posts). I would prefer to support SS, but I also have seen sources from ebay and Jacob Anderson.
Does anyone have recent experience with belts from SS?

Shopsmith belts these days are top quality. I was active in the "old" posts and those issues were solved when Shopsmith went back to it's origional manufacturer.
Moral: You can trust Shopsmith to do the right thing. Always!

I ordered mine from Shopsmith. Why beat yourself up and settle for something less?

The motor belt is unique, a 60 year old design that really needs to be correct, not some almost due to current manufacturing practice etc..
As for the gilmer and poly-v belts, their short length makes then again better sourced from Shopsmith.
Yes there are alternatives - some good others ???
Consider the earlier 'problem' with the motor belt to be a problem that will likely not be repeated. Trouble is, the belt manufacturers cannot(or do not) make a belt to their own stated specifications.
