Oneway Wolverine Grinding Jig

The Oneway Wolverine Grinding Jig teamed up with a Shopsmith and a Woodriver CBN grinding wheel makes a fine slow speed grinder for lathe chisels. The wheel has a 5/8" hole and mounts using the Shopsmith 5/8" dado arbor. The CBN wheel is perfectly balanced right out of the box, never needs dressing and is made out of solid steel so it will never break apart. Slide out the jig arm to match the bevel, clamp it down, then simply rotate the gouge back and forth. It takes just a few seconds for a great edge.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty excited about it too. The wheel is 120 grit. I need a lower grit too and I would like a higher grit also! But I'm just taking it slow for now.

I bought a 600 grit belt sander belt from a local machine supply company.
I first used 120 grit to get the shape on the chisel, then used the 600 grit to do the final sharpening. Puts a nice edge on the chisel

Very innovative approach!!! I am not one of those who favors lathe mounted sharpening systems. The tools will need sharpening during the turning and I dislike dismounting the turning to touch up the chisels. But those folks with stand alone lathes will like the idea I am sure.
