Letter opener I made awhile back. Turned handle then cut the blade down on the bandsaw and finished it up on the disk sander.

It is about 12 inches the blade is about 7 1/2 and the handle is 4 1/2. That is about right for a letter opener. I did a few proof of concept and found shorter length was too short and longer was to flexible.

I tore up the edge of this one opening a box with packing tape. So the next one I will be more mindful of grain direction.

Did thee also do a 'proof of concept' for the handle?
