It gets kind of long but the first few minutes will get you the idea.

Ed, what is this "ice" of which you speak?
Looks like a freezer experiment gone bad.
Seriously, I remember trying to learn how to
drive my old 15 passenger Dodge van, when I
lived in Lawton Oklahoma. Pulled into a church
parking lot, one evening. (Yes, it was THE Mormon
church in Lawton.) Took me 20 minutes to get back
out. Never could really steer, unless my right foot
was curled behind the left foot. (Which was doing
NOTHING, too!)

Driving on icy roads isn't that bad. It takes some skill that most people don't have, but most of the drivers today can't drive on a clean dry road either. At least the ice gives them an excuse for not being able to drive.

Secret is cold dry ice.(not frozen CO2!)
No salt!!!
Black ice? Usually ice is black unless scraped. Yes one can tell it is there if one bothers to look or realize it exists.

Perhaps some of you are not getting the point of the post? OK some of the back story:
"The M1A1 Abrams battle tank is an incredible feat of engineering in the name of military supremacy. The ability to make a 67-ton machine move at speeds up to 41 mph, turn on a dime, and unleash the awesome power of its 120mm smoothbore tank gun is just awe-inspiring. But watching one of these beasts slide sideways in a drift at nearly full speed? Well that’s just jaw-dropping.
So why is this scene happening? Are the folks at the World Rally Championship bringing in the “big guns” to get decent airtime on American television? Actually, the United States Marine Corps is in Norway for cold weather training. It is part of Cold Response, which includes the USMC working with the Norwegian Telemark Battalion (using smaller Leopard 2 tanks) as they showed our boys how to operate the massive tanks in the snow. This video comes by way of military blog Foxtrot Alpha. As exemplified by the video below, operating a tank (as well as USMC Amphibious Assault Vehicles) on ice is no easy task."
So it is really not so much about driving on ice as what you drive on the ice with.

You left out firing the big gun while moving!
