Has anyone mounted an OPR table on a 500 table? I don't think I've done anything wrong (although that's always a strong possibility), but my installation results in an offset between the router axis and the OPR table insert hole of roughly 1/2 inch when looking along the length of the Mark V (see pictures).

The pre-drilled slots provided in the OPR table through which the mounting screws are inserted to screw into the 500 table insert holes have a length of about 3/4 inch, presumably to allow for adjustments. However, in order to get the mounting screws threaded into the insert holes, I actually had to file the inner end of each slot slightly longer. So, both mounting screws are at the innermost extremity of the appropriate slot eliminating any adjustability.

I could simply further elongate the mounting slots, but I'd like to find out if I've done something wrong during installation or if maybe the table I received had the slots located incorrectly before I start drilling/routing the table.

I don't have an OPR, so this is just a guess, but is it possible you put the table on backwards?

Well, that crossed my mind, but judging by the location of the fence mounting holes, it is on the right way.

Sorry, nutball, but I can't answer your question about the 500 table. When mounted onto the 510 table it is screwed into "T" nuts hat have been inserted into the miter slots.

Aren't there miter slots in the 500 table? Seems like all you need is one miter slot - then drill two countersunk holes (if needed) into the OPR table that will place the OPR table in a reasonable position. You will need the back and forth (sideways) movement to change from pin routing to edge routing. Table movement toward and away from the way tubes is done with the table supports.

You will also want to build a 'sliding table' as shown in the Sawdust sessions.

Yes, but they're not t-slots.

It sounds like you're the first one on the Forum to try the OPR on a model 500. This will be of some interest to me since I had some thoughts of doing the same when I got my (2nd rig) used 500 lately.

I also recall the forum mentioning a rash of mis-sized 500 Table Inserts in recent months... perhaps a common reference error is related to that 500 issue as well as your OPR issue?
