I recently found a nice used Pro Planer on Craig's list. I took it home and when I checked it out further I noticed the out feed roller was worn badly. I have a Shopsmith mounted planer I bought new in the early 80's. I remember replacing the rubber in feed roller with a metal one back then. I saved the roller I replaced and was able to find it in my shop all these years later The sales slip and instructions were still in the box. I paid $14.00 for the new roller back then. I took out the bad roller and put in the replacement. She is running great now.
My next challenge was figuring out how to move this around my shop. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this project. I found a post on You Tube of a guy and his shop. He made mobile bases for all his machines. I bought casters and strap hinges from Harbor Freight and built the unit. It works great and I saved some cash and had the enjoyment of this project. Here is a link for you to see how this is done. If you watch the video to near the end he has a nice Shopsmith 10E or ER being used as a drill press.
I will try and upload a few pics of the base.
