Well with mom turning 96 in May she has had some hearing loss over the years, then when taken down last Aug with that UTI that went systemic, she lost her hearing completely, then got just a bit better in her left year, but needed to almost shout. It never improved beyond that. Right ear is only good for hanging glasses on.
So today we picked up the hearing aid, and adjusted. Life is good for her!! And I dont have to shout any more. A friend of hers came over after we got back, mom is very social, it was nice listening in and no "whats" no loud talking by her friend, and so much more interaction on her part in the conversation.

Thanks Everett, she kept hoping the ears would get better, and a few trips since the wheels fell off to her Ears, Noise and Throat Dr, for alternatives, or cure. But never really got better to the point that she could hear normally.

Even at her age, it has the potential to add years to her life, and certainly life to her years as she re-engages things that fell away due to hearing loss.

Everett, I have done alot of research, and when a person does not here well or at all, there rate of a chance of Dementia increases. Mom is sharp mentally, I would put here up against most 70s year olds, she does cross words, Suduko, the all the angles word games, knits here socks, which takes knit 2, Pearl 1, ect, Dusty would have a tough time in the kitchen keeping up with her, but in the shop, Dusty would have her.

So weather was crappy for the last week here, today, 60ish and sunny, I got mom out for a walk and some vitamin D, the Robins, Cardinals, Chick a Dees and House Wrens all out there, singing and looking for mates.
Mom could hear them!!!! And it is not turned up to normal levels till next Wed.
