So I did all things right today, but mom was crankie. I and I realize to some here are at her stage and this info maybe discomfiting to your own personnel situation.
So I am venting to my SS friends if I have any here. I got out after mom woke up at 1130am burnt a bunch of daylight, then an afternoon with a friend installing a vanity and the plumbing, my expertise, then home and got mom out to walk and sunshine, vitamin D, and some conversations with the neighbors, and with the hearing aid no what, what whats, ect.
I made braised lamb shanks with veggies was not good enough, bitch bitch bitch, I dont complane, ect,but she ate all.
We need a break from each other, its coming next week.

My mom and dad used to experience the same thing when their mothers got older. My dad used to tell them that "bitching was good" because it meant that they must be feeling better because they were finding things to complain about. I am not sure that was really the case but I do remember them being a lot more vocal when they were feeling better. I am sure that those kind of days are difficult for you but I commend you for spending as much time with your mom as you do as opposed to putting her in a home and visiting every once in a while like we see all too much. Remember ER, it is the time that you are able to spend with her that will mean the most whether it be a good day or a bad one.

When my mother was no longer able to live independently, she moved to Ohio to be near me and my family. And in her old age, she could get really cranky. My wife and I soon found a way to get her perfectly pleasant, at least at dinner time. Mother had never been a drinker, but she began having a glass of wine with us at dinner. And then usually, a good time was had by all.

Now I wouldn't normally recommend it with anything, much less braised lamb shanks, but she liked white zinfandel. It is way too sweet for me.

All, thanks for all, Mom has a 12oz Miller Lite with dinner, in a frosty. Yes she has her days, I cant read her mind and fears of death, and since she is so mentally sharp, and the body is not willing, her frustrations.
She knitted another pair of socks this week.
Thank you for your thoughts a support here, I know/assume some are there with themselves or/and spouse.

Lover, my mother has been gone 6 years, this May.

Trust me when I say that a "bad day" WITH her, is
MUCH better than a good day, without her.

(Oh, dad died slightly after I got my first Model 10.
It has been 30+ years without him.)
