I'm interested in knowing what anyone is using for an extension fence on their Shopsmith miter gauge.
Thanks!

For starters, the one from SS.
For a longer one a piece of QS oak cut to length/height and a couple of counterbored holes for mounting it.

I'm using the 20" aluminum extension.
Your options are all shown here, if you scroll down.

I guess I'm not sure what you are actually asking. There are many examples of ways of doing this (home made) and many options of buying extensions.
If you have (and you should) a copy of PTWFE there are some good designs shown in there.
Shopsmith sells several versions as well.
If you were to upgrade to the Incra V-120 (shopsmith edition) you can then bolt on Incra equipment/extensions. Well yes you can mount the Incra stuff to your old shopsmith miter gauge but if you are going to spend the money get the package to is designed to work together.

"algale", I'm wondering what features convinced you to choose the 20" versus the 24" version that Shopsmith sells?

It wasn't a choice. I purchased the Shopsmith edition of the kreg band saw fence and this extension is part of that fence. I quickly found that it worked very well as a miter extension and thus move it back and forth between the band saw and the miter gauge.

How well does the lower half of that fence allow very thin stock to be held in place? Reason for question is it looks like the recessed edge at the bottom could allow narrow stock to roll up into the recess.

I haven't cut anything that qualifies as "very thin". There is a slippery strip of something at the bottom that might be an issue if what you are cutting is 1/8" or less. I have had no issues cutting 1/2" and up.

By the way, here are some better photos of that extension as part of the kreg band saw fence for Shopsmith.
