Wood type unknown for the large heart. I bought this piece at a yard sale for $5.
It is roughly 7-1/2" round and 2-1/2" thick. The hole is 3-1/2".
The smaller heart is Black Palm. It is roughly 2" round and 3/4" thick. Both are finished with Tung Oil. Other than a couple coats on the small heart the big heart used almost the whole baby food jar. It was soaking it up. I probably coulda kept going but decided to stop.

I found a shape of heart that I liked then scanned and resized it on my printer.

Thanks for saying it's fancy. I'm worried that it's "plain". Let's see the bowl!

Looks like Walnut to me. Nice!!
I made mom Clams in white sauce with Linguini, her favorite, with a nice garden salad and a glass or 2 of Chardonnay.
