Table alignment

Post by weelildaddy »

Good Morning Guys

Never did I ever think that this table alignment thread I started would end up in such a controversy but I'm glad it did. I just want to thank all of you for the research you have done on the subject. Like Dusty, I wish Nick would weigh in once and for all on the subsize holes on the outfeed trunions. Dusty, you have truly been a man on a mission with this project and I sincerely thank you. Like Nick, I think all four holes should be the same size and during adjustment as Nick and Rick point out, leave the left rear bolt just snug enough to act as a pivot point. All four loose at the same time with a floating top is impossible. I also suspect that irrespective of what Nick said, that Shopsmith may have made a design change with thoes smaller holes. Thank you Paul for the information on the Master Plate. I'm going to order just the plate without the guage as I alread own one. I joined this forum back in 2006 but never became involved and don't know why. You guys are terrific people and I very much respect all of your opinions and comments no matter how small.
