Damaged lower saw guard

Hi all. I have this lower guard that was stored with some weight on top. You can see the result. I figure I could wedge a appropriately sized piece of wood between the plastic halves and use a heat gun to carefully remove the warp. Then I would use epoxy to glue the crack. Anyone have another solution?

I had one I fixed the same way... works great.

You can buy that part as a replacement for about $15 from shopsmith. I did that a few years ago due to a crack that was forming on mine. I had drilled a hole at the end of the crack and that seemed to stop the spread but for the few dollars it cost to have a nice new one I added it to another order and just replaced it.
Your choice.

I didn't even think about that. I figured it would be expensive. The part number is 521979 I believe. Thanks for the info.
