I have the SS in drill press mode. Just noticed that the drum sander table insert I installed is twisted, It will not sit flush. Fortunately, I have another one that I was able to install. Any hope for the twisted one or should I can it?

Depending on how much the insert is twisted- you can put several layers of masking tape onto the bottom of the insert, with a bit of Stick-to-it -ism (pun intended) you probably can get it to sit right.

I had a saw table insert that had a high spot in it, not sure if it was from the casting or bent in shipping. Gently worked it with a hammer and block of wood and got it close enough to use but not for anything precision. It took a lot of time and wasn't worth that much time but didn't have anything better to do that day.
If you do try to straighten it go very slow and easy so you don't crack it or cause large stress fractures.
