I don't get much shop time now days but a guy at work asked me to plane down two cedar boards. I pulled out my Shopsmith Pro Planer tonight I purchased 25 years ago.
After all the junk sold now days, Just a great feeling to use something so well made.
Thanks Shopsmith.

Under time pressure from SWMBO on a paneling project, I paid a local sawmill to plane and edge several hundred BF of rough cherry lumber for me. They did a fine job on the edging, but their Grizzly helical-head jointer left a finish that would have had me sanding for days.
Then I realized that I could just run them all through my Pro Planer for a finish pass at slow feed, taking off maybe 1/32. I'm wondering if I'll need to sand at all.
