My ShopSmith Blog

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but I don't see that it would be a problem. If not, please let me know, and I can scrap this. It feels awkward enough already, as I think it's tooting my own horn, and I don't like to do that.

That being said, my wife suggested that I actually start telling people about my blog, so that it might start getting some traffic, which would be cool, as I won't just be "shouting" into the aether!

In any event, I want to let you all know that I've started a new blog about my adventures learning about woodworking using a ShopSmith. While I've read a LOT (and watched a lot of videos) about the craft, my practical knowledge is essentially nil, and I thought it would be neat to document my adventures of turning theoretical knowledge into practium. If you're interested, go check it out at https://craftycantrell.blogspot.com

I figured I should probably say also that I'm working to post at least once a week. Next post (hopefully up Saturday evening) will be building the under SS cabinet (mostly done). And, since I'm realizing that I don't really know what I'm physically doing, the next few posts will be covering the self-study lesson plan that came with my SS.

I'm totally open to suggestions on projects, topics, ideas, etc.

I've never done anything like this before, and I would greatly value and appreciate this community's input.

Thanks for reading!

I don't have the old motor anymore, but I do have the new motor, and the new Mark V headstock as well as the PowerPro headstock (that upgrade will be in a later article). So all in all, I've got 2 fully functional headstocks, and a third that needs some work. Now I just need something to put the other Mark V headstocks on!
