I have been inundated with email messages from either the Microsoft Team or from the Outlook Team. Am I the only one or are these common place. I also receive, at least two or three times weekly, a telephone message informing me that there is a problem with my computer and if I will return the call it can be fixed.

SCAM
I've gotten calls too, sounds like they are from India. They want access to your PC, of late I say OK and give me a minute then let the phone sit until I hear the message "please hang up your phone" from the the TECO. Wasted their time and gave them less time to call another person.
These calls are not coming any more, either they figured out I was wasting their time of the new system is catching them and not letting them through. Either way never ever give them access to your computer.
I've also had some fun saying "Are you sure my VAX 70/11 has a virus?". Or "That's odd, I don't own a computer."

I got one a few months ago but I gave the guy such a hard time he gave up. I called the local sheriff's cyber crimes unit and they said definitely a scam.

A while back I kept one hanging for almost an hour. I never did find the 'windows' key.

I get those calls on my phone, but the people on the other end barely speak English. They tell me that my Windows computer is generating errors, and they will fix it if I give them a credit card number.
I don't have a Windows computer so even a stupid person who doesn't understand English should know that their scam won't work here.
