A new project is done

FINALLY, pix of my Morris chair.
It's all white oak and heavier than.....well, it's pretty heavy. It's 34" wide, 36 " deep and 40" high.
The back's recline is adjustable to 3 positions by means of pegs in the back end of the arms that limit the back's movement.
Finish is 50/50 Watco and Poly (two coats) and two coats of straight Poly. Each coat was steel wooled with Liberon's finest.
Finally a couple coats of J&J makes it nice and slick.
There's another to be built and two ottomans, too. Hope to have them all done and upholstered by Sept.

Looks great, I have had one on my list to build but other thing, (mom) has gotten in the way. Lots of M&T joints.

O Boy! Very nice work, Gene! Love your construction and your choice of wood. The curved arms must have presented an interesting challenge.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Chuck, the arms are laminated. Three boards of 3/8 thickness. A curved form was fabricated and each board was glued and, all three were clamped to the form at once.
Used nearly every clamp I have.
Those arms are 5-1/2"wide. They were resawn from 8/4 stock. Gave the SS a workout but, no more of one than they gave me!

Thanks a lot, Dick.
I'm don't know the first thing about upholstery. I'll leave that to the experts. Both chairs and their ottomans go to my son and his bride. She picked a faux leather in a tan color. My pick was red but, it's their chairs.
