I think the 10ER is going to be a dedicated Freedom Pen lathe!

Looking good.

I'm sure the troops will love them.
Have you tried horizontal boring to drill the blanks and then switching to the disk sander to "trim" them to length after the tubes are glued in?

I drill the out on my Powermatic 3520, sand them square on a dedicated Grizley disc sander. I know, i know, cheating!

And then FINISH them with a 60+(?) year old Shopsmith.
