Today in the shop (adding a pull out shelf)

It was just plain unpleasant working in the garage today but I wanted to take advantage of some free time to get a few things done so I put up with it. Worked a little slower, taking a brake from time to time to get out in the breeze and cool down.
Back in 2012 I put together some shelving units as shown here:

One thing I've found out is that I really needed a dedicated place to put the tool boxes to open them and root around or just to take the tools out that I needed. I've been making due because I had not included a shelf in the design. Well the more I thought about it I really needed a shelf and where there is a will there is a way.
I picked up a couple of drawer slides at Menard's during their 11% sale and it looked like I could just fit a shelf in. So today I stated working on making it happen.
I still have to add a grip/pull to it but that is no big deal now that everything is fitted in.
I did manage a couple of picture so you can see what I'm talking about.
It is at a nice height for me to work at and I could even use it as a desk if I wanted to. It can be used with both the shelf units as they are next to each other. The other shelf with storage bins is going to be more tricky as there is no room for the slides there. Well that is another issue.
Anyway if anyone decides to build something like this you might want to design in a pull out shelf.
