Drill Doctor

OMG, I have discovered Drill Doctor. I had about 150+ old drill bits that are now brand new. Besides being good therapy, this thing does one heck of a good job and with a little pratice, one can sharpen a bit every two minutes. It's well worth the money if you have a drawer full of old drill bits rather than replacing them when needed. It paid for itself the first time I used it. Capacity is up to 1/2 inch and up to 3/4 inch with an accessory collect. I would have to give this a 5 star rating.

Only problem I have with the D.Dr. is - it won't handle brad point bits.

My thought, also. Brad point bits are my favorite. I don't even mess with the others anymore, unless I'm drilling steel, etc.

I don't know if it's really a good way to sharpen these, but I had gotten some very long, rusty brad-point bits lately along with another used tool. I used the small near-conical stone on my Dremel tool to clean the drill-bit flutes as they terminate at the business end of the bit. They do work now, although maybe not the prettiest things in the world.

Chris - What works - works! Don't need to enter them into a beauty contest.
Bill - Frankly, I'm lost on the smaller bits, but use a diamond fine and very fine card on 3/8" and up. (I think, 3/8")
