Ran out of clamps...

Sometimes there aren't enough clamps... Or rope... So toss a box of parts on your project...

Yep, when you need another one of the right type/application on a glue up, it is just too late

2nd from ER Lover, from what I have read in wood working magazines, with a good glue as TiteBond, which is my favorite for most applications, other the an Epoxy, seldom, or the Original Gorilla glue if I have a sloppy joint and can clean up the foaming action, most people have a tendency to put too much pressure on the glue joint and squeeze out too much glue and have a glue starved joint. On the other hand TiteBond type glues, I think that is a PVC type glue, does not have strength filling gappy joints, that is where Epoxy, or the original Gorilla glue works best. Messy to clean up excess though.

Sometimes, you just gotta make do. An unattached metal vise is often repurposed for the task.

Since you often don't get the holding power you need with just glue keep in mind the screws or nails that you use work as clamps. Since seeing Norm using his air nailer and how quick things can go I've adopted this mythology.
The shopsmith also works as clamp. The headstock to table with the use of the quill feed provides plenty of clamping force.
Don't forget home made clamps using lumber and wedges........
