What Do I Need To Add Casters To Greenie?

Is this what I need?

Or are there lower cost options which are still safe?
Maybe a stupid question, but I assume you can't just use locking casters that fit the holes in the feet, right?

You can usually grab these off ebay for around $40. That's where I got mine.

---What should I be on the lookout for? I mean, can you tell from either of those piccies what (if any) work might be needed?
My only worry is that there might be some missing spring or nut (as with my Jointer) that can't be easily found. Is that a concern? Or are these things pretty bullet-proof?

Buy the caster sets from Shopsmith. They are not that expensive. You won't regret it. You never know just what you'll get from ebay.

I agree, you may get them from Ebay the whole set up, and find out they need new castors at $ 16.oo plus Shipping any way.

To answer your question, they both 'appear' to be complete.
The cheaper one has a LOT of rust. Still functional likely. Steel wheels are likely.
The other 'appears' to be in much better condition. Wheels are plastic
(as are new ones).
As for 'parts', they are the same as current production(at least those likely to need replacement).
It is your decision. New is 'safe'. Used has the usual risks.
There are others on e-bay.

Thanks for going the extra mile, JPG. No way I can afford 'new'. But the longer I have this thing, the more I want to be able to move it around!

For decades, I used a couple of furniture dolly like contraptions. Board and casters. Lift each end up onto them. Three casters(pivoting) each.

Funny you should mention that. I happen to have a couple of -very- sturdy dairy carts (they're wood pallettes with industrial strength casters which are used for moving milk around in grocery stores). They can hold hundreds of pounds.
But wheels can't be -locked-.
I assume your casters had locking wheels?
