Oops! Went down to make my wife a few more bird houses tonight. I was using (or was going to use) my Indra 120 miter gauge to cut the front and back rooflines. Well I had the extension set wrong and proceeded to make the cut. A beautiful cut - right into the miter arm! Thankfully it was set to only 1/2 inch depth, but it was an almost new expensive (very costly!) blade. Shut off the Shopsmith and am settling down to an episode of Dr. Who with a l argue glass of Hennessey cognac! Good night!

Funny, last week or 2, someone else did the same thing, I think reible, or rpd. Now you, scares me, I usually put a wooden extension on the stock miter gauge, which I dont use much, most is done on the CPMS. I bought that Kreg miter gauge and you guys got me worried about doing the same

Ouch! I don't like to even think about damages like this. Worst part is seeing it from now on and knowing what you did. If it were me I would see how much it will cost to replace that part and chalk it up to a learning experience.

Not sure what part you hit but aluminum is not going to damage the blade.... steel on the other hand, well that would be worse.

I wish I had a Dr. Who to watch, well I do it I go to amazon prime but I wish I could see some of the old episodes. One of the channels here is running the Tom Baker years but I keep missing them, maybe hitting at 20%. Need to get on that before they are over......

Not a drinking person but things like could make me one.

Speaking of spirits, I never touch a power switch after having even a sip. But that said, I'm pretty sure that I'm more competent after one or two drinks than I am when tired.

So here's a hearty second to the thanks that nothing more precious than steel, aliminum, and carbide was involved.
