Hi gang!

I haven't been on the forums in awhile. Since fall is closing in the urge to make sawdust is growing stronger. Here's a cabinet I built for my SPT's last fall. It features pull out shelves for easy loading and unloading and adjustable heights via a tenon ladder system. See photos for details. It's all birch plywood from the Orange Box store and the ladder system is from reclaimed pallet wood (I think hickory). I have some more stuff to share later on; stay tuned!

Nice looking cabinet. I've never seen one with adjustable height slides!

Thanks! I got the idea from a Woodsmith video tip for doing the same thing for kitchen cabinets.

so how can you adjust the shelf height with the shelf attached to the slide?

The slides come apart. Just pull a little lever on each side and they release when you pull them all the way out. One half of the slide remains with the shelf and the other half on the "ladder step" (for lack of a better term). Gotta remove the tool from the shelf first of course.

Da I use the same ones, just bought a pair to day for my Router cabinet/table drawer I made this week. Not been doing enough WW the last 10 months. I got it pull out, unleash the lever, pull out, move the other sides to a new position, slide back in. NICE!!!

Very nice build. It will keep your equipment handy and dust free.

That is absolutely outstanding! Love the design. The jointer is too low for this old guy , but great idea and well executed!

I put the jointer around waist height for me (I'm 6 feet), so I don't have to stoop to pick it up or raise my arms too high to lift it off the shelf safely. It works out. I also have a Mark V mounted planer that I kept on a bench. I finally found a guy parting out a Pro Planer on Ebay and bought the drive motor and stand then ordered the upgrade high speed pulleys and SPT casters from SS (still waiting for those); now I don't have to lug that heavy, awkward thing any more.

Great job on the cabinet. I need to make one, but I know I will not get to it soon. Too much stuff in my way! Did you need to secure it to the wall to keep it from tipping when you pull out the jointer?
