In a production run! My wife is addicted to chalk paint, this helps keep her busy! No problem with the miter gauge this time!

Is that a 1-2-3 block on the table insert? What do you use it for?

I use it to set the fence to a perfect three inches from the blade, and then adjust the magnectic tape to three. Makes adjustments so much easier than using a tape measure or ruler. The magnectic strip on the 520 table can move if you give it a good stare, so i check it often.

I love all my SS from Ers to Greenie and a Grayling, but I love my dedicated TS the best

Tell us more about the finished item, chalk paint then what?

Also here is a thread I did years ago about pattern sawing and in this case pattern sawing of a birdhouse shape similar to what you have made. If you have a lot more to do this might be worth the effort and no chance of cutting up your miter gauge as you don't use one.

Thumbs up on the 1-2-3 blocks. I have three of them and they are really handy for times when you need any of those dimensions.

I've knocked my scale off so many times I can't even count. Not while in use but still. Mine is also now bent, and in several places, at least I haven't kink it yet. I plan to add one to an order this month. I haven't done so before because if I'm remembering right they cost about $25........ and people complain about Festool prices??? I do want to get one before the price increase.

I have a pretty complete set of the Veritas set-up blocks in the imperial sizes, it came with a 1-2-3 block as well as 18 other sizes from 1/32" to 3/4" I got them for router setups mostly. I also have a couple of sets of brass bars and they all come in handy. It nice to have tools like that for setups or for verification like you mentioned for the rip guide scale.

Thanks for the link. I do remember reading in a long time ago, but that was before my wife's addiction to chalk paint! We drove to Newport this week for our anniversary (32 years!) and on the way home went to a store to stock up on Annie Sloan chalk paint. $180 later we headed home. I really have to show her how to make her own! I have a feeling she is going to try to sell them either to stores or at a craft show. Will post pics when done with this batch.

I love my dedicated table saw as well, a 1964 Craftsman. It is down for a bit waiting for an alignment. It threw some wood at me a couple months ago due to misalignment. Just have not felt like tweaking it, eventhough i have installed a Pals Alignment kit in it. I think it's mainly an issue with the fence to the blade, as the blade is dead on to the miter track.
