I've been redoing a lot of my shop storage. As a result I'm parting ways with my old storage system. This is a picture of 19 parts cabinets that I have empty and getting ready to be released in to the universe.
Too bad I can only call this a start.

Looks like a pretty good start. I have two like the three in the forefront. Could have used three more.

Whenever I get something like this, I almost always later regret that I had not purchased more. When I go back to get those, they are no longer available and I have to buy substitutes. It appears that you might have the same experience.

I have a few, stackables like that, and a Labeling machine, which the machine is cheap, the labeling is not Works great but have to have your limits

I have a few of those organizers, but still have a several caches of miscellaneous fasteners and stuff that need to be sorted and organized. That would require several more of them.

If you've found a better organizer system, I sure hope you'll tell us all about it!

I wish I were close by, I would purchase them from you. Are we going to get to see your new system?

Better then that, dad had baby food jars hung under wooden shelves with the tops screwed into the bottom of them, just twist and turn to open them. Nuts, bolts, washers, trim nails, ect

There have been several problems I've had with these drawers. As Dusty mentioned it hard to find more of the same kinds so there are at least 4 versions pictured. The blue metal ones are nice and I think my wife wants one of them, the others are promised to my sons. They may take a couple of the plastic ones too but I expect some will be going to either the restore of goodwill.

With all the sizes trying to get a system of them fitting together without loosing too much space has been interesting. The blue ones have handles but the plastic ones don't. Taking them to where you need them means pulling the drawers and a lot of shuffling around getting what you need. If you happen to tip them, what a mess! You are finding parts for weeks!

At present I have 35 of these. I plan to order about 6 more this month.

I also have some larger versions and I have posted pictures before of my cabinet. I hope to be able to make a second cabinet this week to hose the containers I have. This is as far as I had hoped to get this summer.

I say this is maybe 1/8 of my storage of parts but other things have to get done too so I'll be addressing those issues and come back at another time to work out more storage methods.

Personally, I'd like to have the nicely-organized hardware drawer system that my local Ace has, right in my shop. (And I strongly suspect that you are approaching that level.) But then there would be no room to use any machinery in my shop, and I'd have to work in my driveway. But duh, that won't work for me because my basement shop is at the opposite end of my house.

So my realistic options are a 2-day wait for Amazon Prime or McMaster, a 30-minute round trip to HD, or a 20-minute round trip to ACE, not counting shopping. So if I think I have it, but it's not with the organized stuff, I can spend a similar amount of time rooting around, and maybe find it.

I have long-term ambitions of getting my own well-organized stockpile of stuff, but realistically, that will have to wait for retirement. What I really need at this point in my life is an even faster online delivery service.
