Do I have a mark 500 or 510 model?

Hello Everyone, can someone please tell me if I have purchased a shopsmith mark 500 or 510 model? I am new to this and to woodwoking so any information would be very helpful. The machine says model 555540, serial number 091493, What do I have and year? thxs1

Hello and welcome to the forum.

The serial number in your case is also a date code. It will parse to 09/14/93.

The fun thing about a shopsmith it that it is upgradeable. So the best way to know on a used machine is to check this page:

http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/toolhistory.htm

Look at the pictures and find what yours looks like and that is what you have.

Post a picture of the main table.

It matters not what it started life as(model # etc.), but rather what it may have been upgraded to.

Not sure what happened to your last post, it was there and then it was gone.
Anyway, the Shopsmith in the picture you posted is a 510.

Thank you, I don't know what happen either? I posted it and it was there and when I got your reply it was gone? Nonetheless, I am glad you got o see it and confirm it was a 510. Thanks again.
