Reviewing items on Shopsmith site

I may have posted this before. If so I apologize. I would find it helpful if there were more reviews of products on the Shopsmith site itself. When I check out the catalogue items often there are either no reviews, or very few. I expect there are others like me who would find it very helpful if more input were available from those who actually have the item. So, I encourage those of you who can to input on items that you use.

I think a better response would be obtained by a thread asking for 'opinions' on a particular accessory from the folks who frequent this site.

Unfiltered etc..

Create the thread with a "Opinion of 'accessory'" title.

As an example, http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/woodw ... ml#p218634

The problem with solicited opinions on a sponsored website is that they are most likely not "the truth, the whole and nothing but the truth.

I love my Shopsmith but there are issues (in my opinion) that I hardly ever (if ever) speak of.

One that immediately comes to mind is the height of the table when in the table saw mode. Even set for maximum depth of cut, the table is higher than I would like. There are more but that is an example.

There are also users with the opinion that the table saw lacks sufficient power. I wholeheartedly disagree. Adjust feed rate.

There are other users who will tell you that the table is too small to be safe and/or useful. Upgrade!

I don't have any problems with the Shopsmith's limitations. Let's face it, what tool doesn't have limitations? Every tool user has work arounds. We are not any different. Maybe a bit more ingenious. ;)
I'm happy with all my accessories with one big exception. I'd love to be able to use a riser block on the BS.

In the few reviews I have seen on the Shopsmith site, there are both positive and negative reviews. Doesn't appear to me that Shopsmith is editing out the negative. I do see the upside of simply asking folks here on the forum about particular items. However, seems to me that having input on the Shopsmith site would simply be a shorter course for shoppers. Also, not everyone is on the forum, or has the time/desire to use the forum. I am retired and have time, when I was a bit younger and both working and raising a family, time was an issue.
