Home again home again

Well it has been interesting staying alive the last few days.

I went in for a minor procedure back on Tuesday morning, got there at 7:00 for the 8:00 appointment. Plan was for it to take about an hour to 75 minutes and then recovery room for an hour and home again.

Things did not go as planned and by 12:30 Tuesday I had gotten to take my first ambulance ride and was in the hospital. Now I can check riding in an ambulance off the bucket list.

Spent the night and day until about 7:30 last night there, hate all the machines hook ups and wellness checks they seem to have to do. Finally about 5:20 they started pain medication which made things a lot better. I've been taking them every 4 hours since so it has been la la land most of the time.

I can see how people can get hooked on these. Don't really like taking them but it has been nice to sleep as much as I have. Looking forward to going back to bed again even after the who know how many naps I've taken today.

So no shop time for a while now. On the heavy medications until Monday night so no driving or much other activities. See the Dr. end of next week when I hope he has good news and reduced restrictions.

Microwave transformer, wire and such are all waiting for me along with the storage cabinet I started on last week needs to get finished.

Missed a bunch of posts here I'm sure but not up to reading that much, more like trying to stay awake and not hit my head on the keyboard.

You are in my nightly and morning prayers. Less narcotics are better if you can handle the discomfort with just Tylonal. It is stinking hot and humid in IL anyway, so just relax in the AC, heal up and surf the web, and bust Dustys Ding a Lings on something here, Alignment/Jigs, ect.

When the pain lessens, tapering off the meds might be better than going cold turkey. At least that's how it was for me.

The meds are at half the amount that I could take and working fine so I expect that with in a day or so I can just take them at night to help with sleep and not need them during the day.

Feeling better all the time. Might get a walk in today, recommended anyway and something that I normally do anyway.

Feel like eating again as well, food at the hospital wasn't bad but just couldn't eat much, about half of what they brought me and that was it. Normally I would have had it all and wanted more.

Arranging follow up stuff now. X-rays and prim Dr. next Tuesday and then waiting on the follow up date for the other Dr. After I get this stuff done I might even walk out in the shop and have a look around.........

Microwave transformer is too heavy for me to lift.... but I could cut some wires and do a few light tasks.

Take care of yourself first...

When I had my 4x bypass in 2013 I had the silly idea that I was going to use those recovery day in the hospital to do a whole bunch of work on the family tree... Talk about a silly notion.  :D :D I was in full zombie mode... :)

Go to Pintrest and look at woodworking idea pictures and rest. Don't try to think too hard for a few days. :)

My thoughts and prayers are with you Ed!

All of us older guys gotta know there is no such thing as a minor procedure especially if anesthetic is involved.

Please except my sincere BEST WISHES!
