Oh do I so wish that there was a special section for all of the 10/10E/10ER posts.

Dusty, I agree. Then those who do not have an interest in 10's could pass those posts by. I do have a 10 (plus a V and 7) so it could help to break this up.

I have been told that the forum software is outdated and that potentially features we might find useful are in the newer software releases.

While that is very plausible, the mechanism of converting the data in the present software to the new system (especially if it is generations old) might be very expensive. I personally do not know.

I agree it would be really nice to segregate the boards in more relevant ways to assist those who post or search a quick way to restrict their search to just: 10E, 10ER, 500, 505, 510, 520, SPT's,....

I wonder what it would cost, and if we the forum members could set up a Go-Fund-Me page controlled by Shopsmith, to make it happen since it would be for our benefit anyway.

I don't have a 10e or er, but after the posts here, I want one. However, back to topic, I would love to see a previous models section for the many out of manufacturing products, like the 10er, pin router, radial arm saw, etc...

Yes, there are other ways to do this but I would really like to see all of the 10/10E/10ER stuff located so that it was not commingled with posts that I am interested in reading.

As for Mom...well...that is another story and it involves a lot more than just Mom.

Bottom line ....I no longer enjoy the Shopsmith forum as I once did.

I understand. One issue is that there are hundreds of the same questions asked over and over, partially due to the absence of an easy method to filter and present posts that are buried somewhere in some topic within the almost 18,000 threads, and 217,724 posts and counting.....

Were we able to quickly limit the responses to the specific area of the machine or SPT folks seek, the repetitiveness of the same old question being asked and answered by a link someone provides to help get someone started moving toward the answer they seek.

Admin - Can Shopsmith help us determine a way to do this better?

Admin can undoubtedly help but it is not the repetitiveness of the conversations that most needs attention. In fact, it is the repetitiveness that makes the forum useful and helpful. I enjoy the thought of helping others resolve their Shopsmith related problems.

Oh yes, the forum would be much more informative if similar, related questions/answers were not so well hidden in the bowels of the forum.

Furthermore, NOTHING will help if the users don't give some thought to where their posts are most relative. Cooking tips and recipes should go in the "COOKING" section while lubrication, alignment, operation and repairs go in their respective sections.

Community is, I believe for social discussions, maybe try and be more social!!! . Ya never know when you might have to start cooking and doing laundry. Not political as the MS has pointed out.

A gripe forum perhaps?
