Taking Paint Flecks Off Of The Finish

I've got some drops and flecks of dried paint on my Shopsmith (Mark V, Grey). How can I clean them off while protecting the finish?

You long have the spects been on there? Latex or oil base?

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Latex, use ammonia.
