For you guys who live near a Menards store, they have carbide 10" blades free after rebate this week. The blades are the cheap Chinese blades, but I have used them, and they work great on any type of wood. They are equal to the expensive Chinese blades sold under more expensive names.

It seems to me that if you believe they work well then they are really "inexpensive Chinese blades" as apposed to calling them "cheap".

I have a set of Forstner bits that I purchased from Woodcraft. They were "inexpensive" and they were made in China. They have worked well and believe me I put Forstners through the endurance test. I originally used these extensively on an MDF project. They held up to the test and they still cut clean holes without burning.

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered two. No Menards anywhere close.

So everybody is aware, the Menards rebates are not cash. They are for future purchases at Menards. For me, they are as good as cash because I'm in the store 1-2 times a week and spend them as fast as they arrive in the mail.

Well, darn. I didn't catch that. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something to spend them on.

Garys, just found out that I can't use the rebates for online purchases.
They haven't emailed them yet, but when/if they do, I'll send them to you.

I'm not sure if that will work or not. Menards sends out the rebate vouchers in the mail. The person it is sent to needs to sign it on the back of the card. They might or might not accept the signed card from another person. I don't know.

They sent an email with the rebate voucher as a PDF attachment. Its blank.
