1963 Mark VII Owners Manual Restoration is coming along

Post by everettdavis »

1963 Mark VII Owners Manual Restoration is coming along nicely.

I have completed all the illustrations (see thumbnails attached), and have completed the text of the manual itself. I just need to put the two together and assemble a PDF from them.

I am also working on the Mark VII Parts Manual which contains all the motor wiring diagrams etc. and will publish that some time after the Mark VII Owners Manual, which should be out this week, if nothing else major comes up.

I could not have done this without the gracious and most generous help of James Grange Sr.(JPG) who took an original manual, and page by page scanned it all into images for me to work with. The restorations were done from that platform.

The final PDF manual will have larger images than the original, be scalable on your computer screen, and word searchable, with active linked Table of Contents. Yes you could print it if needed.

A really big Thank You to JPG, the go-to Mark VII Guru for certain for me.

I have sent a private message to JPG for his review of it, now that it is assembled.

I have some additional contributions to put in it that weren't in the original manual, and I am working on the Illustrated Parts list next.

Now that's some dedication! Any chance we commoners (not JPG) could get a look at it before you release it?

Errors and omissions are hard to reel in once they are out in the wild so to speak. I need to keep it pretty close to the vest for the time being and not have various revisions out there that I can avoid.

JPG has begun looking it over and has found something I need to fix, but it will take time to verify things are correct and complete as he has a chance to go through it. He has a keen eye and is very detailed, but he has other things that occupy his day as well.

I will work to get it complete, then share it with the world.... soon.
