Dado arbor interference on Mark 7

I am getting interference from my dado arbor on my new Mark 7. I removed the insert and adjusted the headstock to get the arbor above the table support, before replacing the insert. But, not I have a constraint on the height of the dado blade before interference occurs. Anyone experienced this?

If i understand correctly, try this. You don't HAVE to have the table carriage against the rubber bumper. Try loostening the carriage lock, get the blade centered (assuming the blade fits the slot) and then lock the carriage again. Should work ....

Take the dado stack off and add another washer and then build the stack again. The goal with the dado arbor is always to build the stack so that when you add the final lock washer and nut, there is as little exposed thread as possible. This insures that when the stack comes up through the table insert, the exposed thread won't interfere with the table tie bar.
Watch this video and pay attention at about the 3:00 minute mark.

Thanks for the reply, Dick. Yes, I tried that. The problem is when I move the carriage, it frees the arbor, but the blade then doesn't clear the dado table insert. I don't want to run the machine without the insert.
Thanks anyway. I'll keep looking at it.

I suggest that you watch the entire Sawdust Session that is referenced above. Nick addresses your exact problem. If you are attempting to cut a wide dado with a large tilt angle the cutout in the table insert may not be wide enough. In that case, you will have to cut your own table insert.
