Looking for Fire Engine Bunkbed plan

In 1976 I made a Fire Engine Bunkbed from plans from the American Plywood Association. The magazine said any handi-man with a saw and $75 could build this. Well, with the help of a few master craftsmen, who shared their skills and loaned their tools, I finished the project. Took months, cost well over $400 in 1976, with special mattress, and medium density ply sides. All 8 children slept in the bed at one time or another. Alas, it was lost in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, and resulting house fire. To make a very long story short, one of the girls has announced she is pregnant with twins. And she asked if I could make another FireEngine bed. Her father-in-law (also a good friend) is a retired fireman. So my quest is on to find the plans.

I e-mailed American Plywood Association today. But this is from 1976.
Any help in finding the plans will be greatly appreciated.
Thank, Gary

U-BILD plans sold by Rockler and others has a fire engine bed, as well as a bunk bed plan.
Using the bunk bead plan for support details, I should be easy to modify the fire engine plans.

Just a quick note.. The APA apparently published a book in 1980 called the "Plywood Planbook" which claims to have 40 plans for indoor/outdoor.. I'm currently trying to check with the owner of one of these to find out if the plans are in the book or not.. I'll let you know the outcome..

There are a handful of places selling it for about $5 but I dropped a note to the ebay guy asking if that plan was in the book.. I'll let you know if he gets back to me. So far nothing.. I also didn't find any place that had the table of contents for the book either (to confirm the plans are there or not)..

By the way, some of these are being sold on Half.com for as low as $0.75(+shipping)

Thank you all so very much. I just ordered the book Plywood Planbook. If the plans are there I will report, they might even have some other fun project.
Truly appreciate your responses. Reverse enginering is always an option, just not a prefered one.

I have the book, even if it took a while to find it. I can confirm the plan is there on page 75. Anyone that would like to borrow the book to make this
project is welcome to it, PM me with your mailing address. First come/first
served and all that.
