Notification arrived today so I've just finished downloading but haven't check it out yet. I did bring it up just to make sure it works but haven't explored yet.
New for this version "Updated Software Requirement: 64-bit only". So if you are 32 bit hampered you will be on 2016 or earlier releases until you upgrade (windows related).

I updated mine yesterday as well. I use the pro version and they emailed my new codes so I went ahead and downloaded the new software. Now I just have to figure out how I made those layout templates that are now obsolete.

They now have a test to run to make sure your computer can run the new sketchup. It checks for the video card to make sure it will run OpenGL 3.0 or better, that it has hardware acceleration etc.
This is what the results look like:

The offset tool now works like I always wished it would, it gets rid of those funny intersections where they meet.
Rectangle too now works with arrow keys to fix to an axis!
Some other stuff I haven't played with yet. So far I'm liking it!

I've loaded CAD programs on various computers over the years and always found them more work to use than simply building the project without a drawing.
I actually did one woodworking project drawing back in 1988 using DOS (before Windows). I still have that drawing, but since then, I have built hundreds of projects without drawings and find it easier to "just do it". For me, plans on paper get in the way of the plans in my head when building.

Nothing wrong with working details out in one's head.
Drawing things out however forces me to do that.
And remember those pesky details.
