New shop taking shape

The shop is nearly intact now. Got the dust collection in and now it's time to get down to woodworking. First a quick replacement drawer for the kitchen and then on to the first big project which is filling in a sunken living room floor to be level with rest of the house. It will be pretty complicated as it is a gridwork of tempered glass panes which will be approx 12"X12" X 3/8" thick ( room is about 325 sq ft). The subfloor will be about 2" below the finished level which will give me about 1.5 " below each pane to create an LED lighted cell. The panes will be visually separated by a 3/8" strip of Honduran mahogany. The cells below the panes will be made of 1/4" ply with a lighting valence and to be painted a yet to be decided color. Nothing too complicated right ? The biggest challenge will be the size variance in the tempered glass panes. We will have to allow for a fairly wide variance due the tempering process. They will have a 1/16 variance at best. This means the panes will have to have a small amount of free space within each cell to allow for the variance. I need to come up with a way to take up that extra lateral space so as not to have the panes shifting inside the cell as they are walked on. Grout or silicon will probably not be an option. I will post drawings in the near future. I will start on a mockup this week.
