An inside corner square for clamping...is my guess but don't you need a piece for the outside corner.

Dusty and Ed, you are not just pretty faces, I thinks so too, I saw it, but could not "put my finger on it" till you to called it, BS cut on the wings does not have to be exact for the clamping surface.
Time will tell!!

OK, so what was the original 'jig' for?

I do not see it as needed to make the corner clamp.

I think it is the B2 version clamp.

Of course if you are in to airplanes it does look a lot like this:

So a plane model that works as a clamp?

Dusty got it. I thought my post from my phone went through but guess not. I had a bunch of scrap cut offs I made using my old 7 1/4"Skill Saw. Problem was no matter what I did it never cut square to 90* always went back to 88 1/2*. The best way I could think to get those small pieces to a 90* edge was with a jig and the conical disc sander. I now have 70+ perfectly square corner brackets.

BTW, I tossed the old Skill Saw in the middle of that project for a new Makita worm drive. it was a very good investment.
