Well the shop is 99.9% done. All wired in and got the dust collection almost finished today. Did a test cut on the saw today and was amazed. Truly a testament to the way SS's are built. After being loaded and unloaded and moved 400 miles in a truck I was expecting it to need some tweaking but it was dead on. Ran out of waste gates and have one left to install and then it's time to get cracking. Interesting place Las Vegas. There are no Rockler or Woodcraft stores here. There is a store called Woodworker Emporium which seems to have a pretty good selection of the usual stuff and very nice people. There is also only one hardwood supplier and he carries no genuine mahogany. It has to be shipped in from about 250 miles away. If you want to select the wood you have to drive there and then they will deliver for a charge. Guess I'm not on LA/Orange County any more ! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. That looks first class! What a dream Mark 5 table setup you have there! I love it. Using 4 floating tables. How difficult is it changing blade hight/depth?

As far as wood goes, try Truth or Consequences .... LOL

My closed hardwood dealer (and he is fantastic) is 150 miles away in Albuquerque..... :/

I use the adjustable stop collars which make changing the height a little easier. I leave it in that specific mode most of the time though. I use it for cross cuts on difficult ply and wood where the miter saws won't give me the quality of cut I need. It is also the power head for the jointer so I rarely change the setup. As far as changing blades it takes about 5 min or so but it involves removing the tubes and raising the table and then lowering down into position again. The stop collars really make that easier though. I also rarely change that blade. That blade gives me perfect crosscuts. That sample cut is absolutely perfect and it is that trash 3/4 ply the sell at HD. The blade ironically is a standard SS carbide combo blade. I didn't even have the zero clearance insert installed for that cut. Repeating what someone just said on another thread I have really expensive blades that do a great job but I also have inexpensive blades that perform really well. I have several of those SS combo blades and love them.
