Thought some of you folks might like to see this tool box. We're getting ready for the July classes and Drew, Phil, and I are just finishing up the prototypes for the projects that we will be building -- this is one of them. We've put a little bit more effort into this project than we will have time to complete in a week's time, perhaps, but you will leave with know-how to build something this elegant or better.

Phil Stock is the reason our camera work has looked so good during the last few Sawdust Sessions. I've been working with him on and off since the 1980s -- he and I were both employed by Shopsmith before I went off to write books and he went off to do industrial films. He has an in-depth knowledge of cinematography, finish carpentry, and woodworking. He worked with Drew and I in the little educational foundation that I direct, the Wright Brothers Aeroplane Company ([url]http://www.wright-brothers.org)[/url]. He helped build many of the interactive displays that we send out to museums with our airplanes, including all our flight simulators. (He helped design flight sims for all the Wright aircraft from 1900 to 1905 so kids could fly them and see how the Wright brothers worked out the problem of airplane control.) When it became apparent that I had bitten off way more than I could chew with both the V-books and the July event, Phil came on board to help out. The tool box is an example of his craftsmanship, and he tells me to tell you that he appreciates your compliments. If you come to Dayton for the Owner's Weekend, you'll get a chance to meet him.

Sweet! That is a classy tool box...a great combination of function and style.

I can't make it to the class, but maybe at some future time the plans and/or a dvd of the tool box project might be made available to those of use who won't be at the class. If so, sign me up for one!
