I was at a friends house Saturday night helping finish up a project for his youngest daughter, a hope chest with sliding baskets. He decided to make the basket corners with dovetail joints and had planned to use my INCRA on the SS but I am still not able to use the shop. He turned to plan B a few weeks ago and went in search of a dovetail jig. Looked at the usual suspects that use a router but since he is not planning on using one much after completing this chest he stumbled on a site called Katz_Moses, liked what he saw and ordered the kit.

It is really a slick little device. The magnets make it very easy for him to keep the saw tracking on the correct angle,

He just has a cheapo Irwin Japanese pull saw and with this jig he has done a wonderful job.

Just thought I'd pass it along.

Be well,
Ben

That's a really cool idea, perfect solution for a dub like me. Thanks much for posting.

There is a metal one I just saw demoed on YouTube. I think Highland Hardware was selling it.
I wonder if there is going to be a patent fight?

Found it! The Dave Baron Dovetail guide http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/davi ... guide.aspx

Also did a Bing search on magnetic dovetail guide and was blown away with all the hits. This idea has been around for a few inventors. ;)
