Project wood

Went to the local saw mill last week and found some really good stuff. Soft Maple, Hard Maple and Cherry. Now I can give the Incra I-Box a work out. I got a lot of it planed but had to quit because of the bad weather. Can't re-locate to the drive way.
I bought this load for $50.00. It would have cost me a fortune at Woodcraft.

Yep, a planer pays for itself really fast, when you compare the sawmill price of rough-sawn native hardwood to the finished board price at a retail store.

The owner of this mill puts all this hardwood (1" +) x 10-12" wide in his Kiln which is the size of a barn for 6 months so it is dry and ready to make something!

Good deal. Let it acclimate to your shop for a week or so to stabilize moisture differences and then get er done!.....
Edit: oh, I forgot, you're in Arizona, as dry as fire!

Don,
Would you care to share the mill's contact information? I'll likely be in Tulsa this coming Saturday or Sunday and typically drive to or through a few times a year.

OP is in the Tulsa area, the other one mentioned he would be in the Tulsa area, and wanted to hit the supplier, it had nothing to do with AZ.

Roy in (OKC) Where I was born, graduated High school, graduated from Oklahoma City University and used to beat the *&%$ out of Moore in football back in 1947, 48, 49 and 50.
The mill actually is in Inola, OK but unfortunately is not open on week-ends. The owner's son has been really good to me being a vet and just an "Old F@$^" looking for a good deal. I really believe he feels more or less sorry for me hobbling around on titanium hips and caring an oxygen generator.

Right now it is acclimating in the back of my van. Don't have any room in the shop. before the weather turned bad, I got some of the Maple planed it went smooth. Planed one piece of the Cherry and boy it is tough. I thought Walnut was rough on the planer, but the Cherry is in another league.
