2 1/4 inch Drum Sander Parts

My drum sander won't expand to grip the sanding sleeve. I believe it's just old and no longer is long enough to be expanded properly. I have been unable to locate a part number for the rubber sleeve.

Can someone help with the part number or is there another solution? I considered a PVC ring to make up for some of the length.

I have the paper work that came with mine (30 years ago maybe). It does not depict an exploded parts breakdown, but does include this list of parts:

122181 - Hex Head Cap Screw
222458 - Socket Set Screw
503007 - Hub-Drum Pindle
503009 - Sleeve, Rubber
503010 - Hub, Drum Adjusting

And you just might be in luck. It is listed as a pice parts.

I shall add this to my shopping list.

The part number should be 503009.
I have ordered one in the past for mine. I would call first.
Hope this helps.

One thing I do with all of my drum sanding mandrels is take the tension off when I am done using them. I think that helps to preserve the elasticity of the rubber.

Great suggestion, one that should be followed. That was my thought and I will follow that practice when I replace the sleeve. This one I obtained with my Greenie, 63 years under compression has left it unserviceable.
