Hi, so im here to say goodbye to this group which I love so much. My wife says I'm in this group every 2 seconds and I'm too obsessed with woodworking and she can't stand it anymore..Well we argued and she told me to choose between her or the group...therefore Im gonna be offline for a couple hours while I pack her bags and call her a taxi!! I'll be right back!

Ah come on, can't she pack her own bags?

That dependson what the meaning of "it" is.

There will be more time available but the question is for what. I am far more strerched for shop time than I was when I was working. Everyone accepted the shop as a distraction from the stress of work. Not so now.

You have to get the spouse involved with the project. Let her think up what she wants in the way of furniture. A picture off the internet will do. Then make her the best piece of furniture she has ever owned. Have her deciding on the next piece while you are working on the current one. Take her on a tour of the local exotic wood store so she can expand the possibilities. Pretty soon the only question will be how much did you get done today in the shop. You have a SS so you are pretty much equipped to make anything. My boss even peruses the router bit catalogues to determine the profiles she wants. The key is to make it what they want and make it very well. It doesn't have to be expensive either. If they like early American maple is cheap. Walnut can be had pretty reasonable also. A really nice table can be made fairly inexpensively and at a fraction of the price for even cheap furniture. When you give them a small gift deliver it in a nice piece of woodworking ( box, turning etc ). This concept has worked for me and several woodworking friends for years.
