The people at MicroJIG have a product called MATCHFIT Dado Stop and mine has just arrived. I'm still working on some lathe projects so I can't tell you how well it really works but at least I can make you aware of it.

If you already own the MATCHFIT dovetail clamps they this is a pretty reasonable price. You can read about them here:

http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/commu ... 18226.html

I'm sure it is going to take a little getting use to but if it works out then I'm going to be a happy camper for-sure.

It attaches to the rip fence with the before mentioned clamps and then lets you locate both sides of the blade and then set up to do inlays or dado's based on the thickness of the actual part (limited to about 3/4" it looks like). You use a regular blade with a flat tip or a rip blade and get the two outside cuts done then nibble away the material between.

It's best if you check out their video and details here:

http://www.microjig.com/products/dado-stop/

I was $19.90 + 4.90 shipping so $24.80 total. If you need the clamps well then it going to cost you..........

I'd like to get at it this weekend but who knows. Went to a home show today so no shop time. I could make myself I guess but I don't see that happening my legs and back are already tired.

If you have one let us know what you think of it.

Kinda, sorta, somewhat, the same idea as the KerfMaker. But, far less complicated.

Slick, Ed. I bought the dovetail clamps after you posted about them, so the $$$'s aren't bad. Looking forward to your test report.

Looks very useful. Has anyone ever used their adjustable miter bars ? They are also very reasonably priced.

I just bought some of their clamps to retrofit to the front of my bench. I will post some pictures when I get time in another thread.

Yes I have several of their products including the miter bars. I played with them to get an idea of how they worked but never got them built into anything. Not that they didn't work but more like where did I put them????? They will turn up again someday. They do work quite well from my testing.

I have a pair of the GRR-RIPPER's, the steel MJ-SPLITERS in both kerf widths, and as mentioned the ZEROPLAY and then the MATCHFIT clamps and now the DADO STOP. I've been happy with all of these.

Just bought the dado jig and the clamps.

Love the clamps, already began modding my workbench with dovetail bit. This will give me flexibility clamping in the middle of the bench, which I always wish I had. Added dado groves to a homebuilt fence for the SS Bandsaw. No more issues with clamps getting in the way

Made some preliminary dadoes and it works better and quicker than anything previous.
